Sheree & Brian Thornsberry - Proprietors
First fueled by their passion as grand consumers, Brian and Sheree began Innumero Wines on the premise that exceptional wines are made with minimal intervention and as true expressions of the vineyards and varietals they source.
Prior to Innumero, Sheree & Brian followed the familiar rhythms of family and corporate life in St. Louis. In 2020 Innumero Wines became a vessel for something deeper . . . a refocus on reinvention, risk taking, and building. They partnered with winemaker Ashley Herzberg, whose artistry mirrored their own reverence for authenticity, and together began crafting wines that honor the nuances of place, vintage, varietal, and clonal selection.
Operating without a traditional estate, Brian and Sheree prefer intimacy over grandeur. They host tastings in homes, know their Allocation List Members by name, and treat every bottle as a bridge between people. They believe that lean can be luminous, and that passion, when poured into the right vessel, becomes irresistible.
Under their guidance, Innumero has developed a portfolio of single-vineyard/single-clone, critically acclaimed wines. Their greatest joy as owners is being able to grace the tables of Innumero’s Allocation List Members with special bottles that reflect a sense of place, and their passion for quality.
Brian and Sheree reside in Santa Rosa, California and have four children - Jack, Madison, Aubrey, and Wilson. Bella, their Golden Retriever, rounds out the Family.
Ashley Herzberg - Winemaker
Ashley Herzberg didn’t set out to become a winemaker. Her path began with the intention of working in healthcare with a degree in Chemical Engineering. But fate, like wine, has a way of fermenting quietly until it’s ready to be poured. One gentle nudge from a professor, one leap of faith, and Ashley found herself in Sonoma County—where the scent of crushed grapes and the rhythm of harvest awakened something within her soul.
It was at Owl Ridge, a custom crush winery in Sebastopol, where Ashley’s transformation began. On her second day, surrounded by barrels and the hum of fermentation, she knew she had found her calling. Mentored by legends like Merry Edwards and Greg Lafollette, she absorbed the wisdom of Pinot Noir’s most revered artisans. Owl Ridge became her classroom, her laboratory, and her sanctuary.
By 2007, Ashley had ascended to Enologist at Mauritson Wines, and soon after, Assistant Winemaker. But it was in 2011—under a sky heavy with rain, harvesting Zinfandel in Dry Creek Valley—that she truly stepped into her own. Soaked and uncertain, she whispered to herself, “I think this is where I need to be.” That moment became her compass, guiding her through every challenge since.
Ashley’s wines are more than fermented grapes—they are snapshots of time, place, and emotion. She blends science and soul, engineering and intuition, crafting wines that sing of the soil they sprang from. Her children have grown up among the vines, sorting grapes beside her, learning that passion and perseverance can shape a life as surely as sun and rain shape a vintage.
Today, Ashley is the winemaker behind Innumero Wines, where her artistry shines in every bottle. From the crystalline elegance of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir to the layered complexity of Green Valley of Russian River Valley Chardonnay, her wines invite you to taste not just flavor, but feeling. They are the embodiment of a woman who traded a lab coat for field boots, who found beauty in biology, and who pours her heart into every glass.
To drink Ashley Herzberg’s wines is to sip the story of a life reimagined—where chemistry meets poetry, and every vintage is a chapter in her unfolding tale.

Pour Le Goût Farms
CULINARY PARTNER
Nestled in the rolling hills of Sonoma County overlooking the Russian River Valley, our small farm celebrates the connection between soil, season, and table.
In their open-air, wood-fired kitchen, Chefs Scott Lietzke & Martin Meeker cook what they grow. Each private dining experience is a reflection of the day’s harvest—from olive oil to organic produce, handmade pastas to fire-roasted meats all paired with Innumero’s elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Guests gather in the outdoor kitchen nestled in the orchard, surrounded by the scent of wood smoke and fresh herbs.
This is Sonoma County as it was meant to be experienced: authentic, elemental, and deeply personal—a place where great wine meets the people and the place that inspire.

Charlie Chenoweth
GROWER/VINEYARD PARTNER
When he was just eight years old, young Charlie Chenoweth was tasked by his father to uproot his grandad’s cherry trees. With dynamite. Thus, started his career in farming.
Fast forward a couple decades and the boy who “grew up farming unwillingly” on the family farm morphed into one of the most talented farmers in the business. The man who can coax from a grape vine what is arguably planet Earth’s finest example of Pinot Noir.
Charlie is known to the handful of master winemakers responsible for the most sought-after “cult” wines as one of Wine Country’s elite growers, whose vast knowledge and fanatical attention to detail produces fruit of the highest quality.

Grand Cru
CUSTOM CRUSH WINERY
Grand Cru is a cooperative wine production business founded by Robert & Erin Morris and Todd & Erin Gottula that produces roughly 25,000 cases annually and is where Innumero Wines are crafted. Grand Cru’s small tanks, the best crush equipment, talented cellar staff, and perfectly sized barrel rooms make for a perfect environment for our winemaking.
Greg LeDoux and Associates designed the facility using inspiration from the Boradorri Garage, a historical building overlooking the ocean in Cayucos California.

BellaGirl Doggo
AMBASSADOR OF CUTENESS
Bella is Innumero’s Ambassador of Cutness and Canine Hospitality. Occasionally making an appearance at tastings, she is keenly interested more in the cheese and charcuterie than she is wine . . . but understandably so.
She has a knack for endearing herself to all of our guests, and in exchange for good pets and scritches, she will retrieve any ball vigorously thrown.
Her palate leans towards a protein diet . . . but a good carrot or broccoli floret (while difficult to pair with wine) rarely escapes her.

Bootlegger's Hill Vineyard
VINEYARD PARTNER
Rising in the western reach of the Green Valley of Russian River Valley AVA west of Sebastopol, the gently rolling Sebastopol hills lift the vineyard of sandy loam Goldridge Soil to 1,000 feet above sea level. With panoramic eastern facing views, time spent it the vineyard gives privileged visitors the unique opportunity to take in views of the Russian River Valley below . . . and on a clear day, Mt. St. Helena, nearly 35 miles in the distance.
Named for its history of being an enclave for those making spirits on the property during prohibition, it served as high-ground from which Bootleggers could see approaching Revenuers in order to make a hasty escape.
Several Dijon clonal selections of Pinot Noir are grown in the eastern exposure of the vineyard, with two clones of Chardonnay gracing the Western knoll. Little Boot Vineyard
VINEYARD PARTNER
In the western part of the Green Valley of Russian River Valley AVA just east of the town of Occidental, Little Boot Vineyard has produced critically acclaimed wines for Innumero. The moniker of “hidden gem” is frequently used to refer to this special vineyard and our single-vineyard/single-clone approach to winemaking was borne in this vineyard.
Bordered on two sides with apple orchards, this 7 acre parcel contains 4 different Pinot Noir clones (23, 37 (Mt. Eden), & 459) and a small section of Montrachet clone Chardonnay. We take exclusively from the Calera clone Pinot Noir block.
Just down the road from Bootlegger’s Hill Vineyard, Little Boot sits on level ground comprised of sandy loam Goldridge Soil at 1,100 feet of elevation. It is sheltered on one side by a stand of Redwood trees that moderates breezes flowing through the vineyard. The diurnal shift in temperature takes place at around 10:00am and 5:00p each day, warming the vineyard for ripening during the day and returning back to cool and stable nighttime temperatures for the perfect fruit development.Little Boot Vineyard Calera is typically our last fruit harvested each year.

Kick Ranch Vineyard
VINEYARD PARTNER
Kick Ranch is a 40-acre premier vineyard resting on the western slope of Spring Mountain in the Mayacamas Mountains. The sustainably-farmed property is near the Napa County line along the eastern reaches of Santa Rosa. It is part of the Fountaingrove District American Viticultural Area, a famed stretch of rolling hills made of rich soils derived from ancient bedrock and the Sonoma Volcanics.
The climate in this part of Sonoma County is cool and coastal, South-facing vine rows attract optimal sun exposure by day while cool, foggy evenings enhance flavors and extend the growing cycle.
Vineyard slopes are generally moderate (5-15%) for the southern two-thirds of the property while the northern portion is considerably steeper (25-50%). The rocky volcanic soils of this hillside are prized by vintners from all over the region.
Originally planted in 2000, Kick Ranch has since earned a remarkable reputation for producing exceptional Rhône and Bordeaux varietals with marked minerality.
Named after a former utopian community founded in the late 1800s, the Fountaingrove District AVA covers a sizable elevation range, stretching from roughly 400-2,000 feet above sea level. Many have dubbed this fertile appellation “the Eden of the West.”

Ellen Lane Vineyard
VINEYARD PARTNER
Ellen Lane Vineyard sits on a gradual West sloping hillside just West of the sleepy hamlet of Forestville in the Russian River Valley AVA.
The vineyard exclusively grows Chardonnay, with Hudson, Hyde and Clone 4 clones on a combination of Blucher and Josephine gravel and clay loam soil types.
The vineyard sits in a steep edged bowl with a reservoir at it’s base, making it both a concentrator of daytime heat and nighttime cool fog. With a sharp diurnal temperature shift, the grapes are warmed to ripen and cooled for stability each day/night, yielding prime fruit growing conditions for our wine’s expression.
We exclusively source Hudson clone Chardonnay from this vineyard to make an exceptional single-vineyard/single-clone wine.
-
Sharkstooth Vineyard
VINEYARD PARTNER
Located in the Fort Ross Seaview AVA, just north of the hamlet of Cazaderos, CA, this is Innumero’s newest vineyard source and is still in-the-works. Our first foray into the Western reaches of Sonoma County, Sharkstooth is anticipated to come online for us for our 2027.
Planted to two Pinot Noir clones (777 & Calera) both grafted to 420A rootstock, this site sits at 1,000 feet of elevation with hilltop East facing exposure. The soil is a blend of marine sediment soils interspersed with iron rich soil threads.
It was named for prehistoric fossil remains found throughout the vineyard (yes, sharks teeth!) and is adjacent to several other pedigreed vineyards/producers.
We hold great expectations for the future wines that we will make from this site, influenced by the cool coastal climate that affects it.
